Technical

Q. What browsers and Operating Systems are supported by the online courses?
The courses are officially supported on Windows 98, 2000, NT 4.0, XP, Vista and Sun Solaris, Linux and are qualified to run on Safari, Firefox 3+ and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or greater.
 
Q. Are there any special requirements to view the courses?
Courses may contain animations and audio. To view the courses in the best possible manner, you might need the flash plugin. You might already have this installed. If you don't please install the flash plugin. You can get it from here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
 
Q. What is the required Internet connect speed to view these courses?
The courses should work on speeds of 56Kbps and above. While broadband internet speeds (DSL, cable etc.) are not required to view these course it is recommended for the best user experience.
 
Q. What is the recommended browser for navigating your site?
It’s highly recommended you use Internet Explorer (IE). While the site will work in other browsers, it’s been optimized to work with IE. In particular, the eLearning section of the site utilizes Microsoft Silverlight, a tool that works best in IE.

Training 

Q. On the Course Catalog, there are some courses listed as free. Are these classes actually free?
Classes hosted on your site are not free. While there is a price associated to these classes, we ask that you first click the Register button next to the class so we can contact you to schedule a time for your class.
 
Q. I reviewed the syllabus for one of your classes and there were a few topics listed that aren’t applicable for our company. Are we able to customize classes at all to suit our needs?
Yes! All of our classes are customizable. We want to ensure you and your company are happy with the training you receive and are willing to tailor classes to achieve that. Feel free to get in contact with us at academy@rsmus.com or select the Register button next to the class you’re interested in.
 
Q. I’m looking at the Course Catalog and I’m confused as to why there are already dates listed next to the free classes that say Your Site and Your Dates?
These dates are simply hypothetical. Once you get in contact with us, we can find a date which works with your busy schedule.
 
Q. I was interested in one of the classes you were hosting in Denver but the timing doesn’t work for me. What are my options?
We periodically update our list of Denver-hosted class, so it’s quite possible the class will show up on again at a later date. If you look through the rest of the catalog, you’ll also see we offer to host classes at your site if this works best for you. We can also host a private class in one of our central offices located in Pleasanton, CA, Denver, CO, St. Louis, MO, or Alpharetta, GA. Feel free to reach out to us and we can work something out.
 
Q. How many participants do you allow to sit in your instructor-led training courses?
We typically try to limit our classes to 10 participants. In some circumstances, we can make exceptions to this rule. Please contact us and we will work with you to find the best solution to meet your training needs.
 
Q. I’m having trouble navigating through the catalog, all I can see are mostly classes hosted in Denver. How can I view the rest of the classes you offer?
In addition to clicking through the different page numbers there’s also a search bar to find specific classes. You can also filter by category; in this case our Denver-hosted classes or classes hosted at your location. Classes can be sorted alphabetically as well.

Q. Where do your Denver-hosted classes take place?
These classes are held at RSM’s Denver Tech Center office. In the “Contact Us” section below, you can find our address and hours of operation.

Q. I’m interested in learning about a topic but I’m not certain attending an instructor-led class is for me. Do you offer learning in any other formats?
Yes we do. As you just mentioned, we do offer instructor-led training but we also offer a few other formats as well. These include eLearning, virtual instructor-led training, or training via webinar. For more information, feel free to contact us and we can share some more details with you.
 
Q. I have several people I’d like to sign up for one of your classes. Do you offer any discounts?
Yes we do, we offer volume discounts if you’re looking to sign up five or more participants. Please contact us for more information.

Q. How can I register more than one person for a class?
To register more than one person at a time, please contact us and we will help you with this process.
 

Payment

Q. What methods of payment do you accept?
Our site's default payment method is PayPal.  If you would prefer a different method, we do accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Please contact us for more details.
 
Q. I’ve registered for a class but have just learned I can no longer attend. Is it too late to cancel and receive my money back?
Our cancellation and refund policy is as follows: As long as you cancel 14 days prior to the scheduled class, you will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made 7 days prior to the scheduled class will be given a 50% refund. Cancellations within 7 days of the classes beginning will not be refunded.

Account Issues and Registration

Q. What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
Go the login page and click on the Forgot password link. Enter your e-mail address and submit. You should receive an automated e-mail with the instructions about your new password. If you do not the email immediately please check your spam folder. If you are still unable to set your new password please contact your support team.


Q. I want to register for a class but I haven’t created an account yet. Do I need to create an account?
Yes while you can navigate the site and see some of what it has to offer as a guest. Most functionality, including registering for classes requires you to login. In regards to registering, logging in allows us to have information to contact you and give you further information on your needs.
 
Q. I registered to join the site but never received an email to activate my account. Help me!
Don’t worry, we’re here to help! Please click the Support button at the top of the page and give us some information on your issue and we’ll work to get your issue resolved as soon as possible.
 
Q. I registered for a self-paced class but am not sure where to access the class now. Where do I go?
 Once you are logged in to the RSM Technology Academy website, navigate to the “My Courses” section. There you should see any classes you have registered for. To start the class click View Details and then click the Launch button.

Q. I’ve recently changed my email and would like to change my username to match my new email. How can I do this?
If you click Account Settings you can change this information under the “My Info” tab. In this same area you can also change your password and a variety of other information.
